Awarded Patent for Innovative Digital Signature Technology Nashville, TN -- May 11, 2010 -- LineType Software, Inc., a developer of electronic document tools for design professionals, has been awarded Patent no. 7,711,142 by the U.S Patent and Trademark Office for the digital signature technology incorporated in the Banjo Digital Signature plug-in for Adobe Acrobat. The Banjo plug-in offers unique formatting and security capabilities that allow users to customize the graphic appearance associated with a digital signature to comply with licensing board standards for signing and sealing construction drawings and specifications. Any alteration to a signed document will cause the signature to be immediately and visibly invalidated. These custom formatting features are the centerpiece of the technology acknowledged by the Patent Office. Users of the Banjo plug-in are able to configure the graphics associated with the digital signature with great precision, and can use a template document (such as a print of a CAD drawing, or a contract) as an underlay when arranging graphics elements on the screen. The Multi-Sign feature of the Banjo plug-in, which allows a user to sign multiple pages of a PDF at one time, is also recognized in the patent.
